Drone roof inspection & reporting3D property modelling & aerial measurement
Using carefully planned aerial imagery and photogrammetry, we can create a detailed 3D digital model of a roof, building or site. It allows dimensions, areas, falls and key features to be reviewed away from the property—useful for planning, estimating, condition records and difficult-to-access structures.
Under suitable capture conditions and processing, measurement accuracy can reach up to 99.9%. The required accuracy, survey controls and intended use are agreed before capture.
Lee Moran
Roofing specialist & UAV operator
Meet Lee
I have spent more than 26 years working with roofs and the buildings beneath them. That practical background shapes every survey: I am looking at how the roof is built, why it may be failing and what can realistically be repaired—not simply collecting attractive aerial images.
Moran Roofing & UAV brings that hands-on understanding together with UAV inspection, thermal imaging, mapping and 3D modelling. The result is clearer evidence and practical advice for homeowners, property managers, surveyors and commercial clients.
“Technology is most useful when the person interpreting it understands the work.”
Roofing first. Technology where useful.
UAV equipment, thermal cameras and 3D modelling are tools within a wider roofing service—not the business’s only capability.
Evidence is considered alongside access, materials, workmanship, repairability and long-term roof performance.
Establish the symptoms, history and outcome you need.
Use safe access, close inspection, UAV or thermal evidence as appropriate.
Turn the evidence into dimensions, findings and a clear scope where required.
Complete the agreed roofing work with suitable specialist teams.

Common questions
Yes. Roofing is the main trade. UAV, thermal and 3D survey tools are used where they make inspection safer, clearer or more measurable.
A UAV can often provide useful high-level visual evidence without scaffold access, but it cannot replace every form of close inspection. The safest suitable method is decided for each property.
Depending on the survey specification, it can support roof measurement, estimating, planning, condition recording, progress comparison and assessment of difficult-to-access areas.
No. Every flight is subject to weather, airspace, people, property, insurance and any required permissions or authorisations.
Responsible roofing and UAV operations
Access, scaffolding, work-at-height controls, weather and property condition are assessed for roofing work. Each proposed UAV flight is separately checked for aircraft category, airspace, people, property, weather, insurance and required permissions.
